This Privacy Policy explains how The Sizzleisland Company Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you use this website and purchase tickets for the Imperfect Trails premiere screening in Trinidad and Tobago.
We process personal data in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, including the Data Protection Act, Chap. 22:04 (as amended), and other applicable rules. By using this site or submitting a registration or payment, you acknowledge this Policy.
1. Who we are (data controller)
The data controller responsible for your personal information in connection with this premiere site is:
The Sizzleisland Company Limited
Email: maria.lewis@mysizzleisland.com
Phone: 1 (868) 321-3817
Website: https://www.sizzleisland.com
For privacy requests, contact us at the email above with the subject line “Privacy Request: Imperfect Trails”.
2. Information we collect
We may collect:
- Identity & contact data: full name, email address, and phone number that you provide when registering or buying tickets.
- Transaction data: ticket quantity, amount paid, payment method (online card or bank transfer), order / payment reference, payment status, and approval codes returned by the payment gateway.
- Event data: screening date, venue, and screen associated with your booking.
- Technical data: limited server logs such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps, used for security and troubleshooting.
We do not store full card numbers, CVV, or PIN on our servers. Card payments are processed on the hosted payment page of our banking / payment partners (Scotia eCom+ / Fiserv IPG).
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Process ticket registrations and payments;
- Send ticket confirmations and transactional emails;
- Communicate about the premiere (seat confirmation, schedule changes, entry instructions);
- Reconcile bank transfers and prevent fraud or duplicate bookings;
- Maintain guest lists and door admission records;
- Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations in Trinidad and Tobago;
- Improve site reliability and security.
We will not sell your personal information. We will not use your contact details for unrelated marketing unless you separately consent.
4. Legal bases
Depending on the activity, we rely on one or more of the following:
- Contract: processing needed to take and fulfil your ticket order;
- Legitimate interests: guest-list management, fraud prevention, and essential event operations, balanced against your rights;
- Legal obligation: record-keeping and compliance with Trinidad and Tobago law;
- Consent: where we ask for it (for example, optional communications), which you may withdraw at any time.
5. Who we share information with
We share data only as needed with:
- Payment processors: Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago / Fiserv (IPG Connect) to authorise and settle card payments;
- Email delivery: our SMTP / email hosting provider, to send ticket and transactional messages from our mailbox;
- Operations tools: Google Sheets (or equivalent) used as an internal registration ledger;
- Venue / door staff: limited guest-list details needed for admission on the night;
- Professional advisers and authorities - where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
Some processors may store or process data on servers outside Trinidad and Tobago. Where that occurs, we take reasonable steps appropriate to the nature of the data and the service.
6. Retention
We keep registration and payment records for as long as needed to run the premiere and to meet accounting and legal retention needs (typically up to seven (7) years for financial records, unless a longer period is required). Guest-list data used only for door admission may be deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period after the event, subject to record-keeping duties.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including HTTPS, restricted access to registration records, and payment handling via a PCI-scoped hosted payment page. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will take steps required by applicable law.
8. Your rights
Subject to the Data Protection Act and any applicable exceptions, you may request to:
- Access personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Ask us to delete or restrict processing where the law allows;
- Object to certain processing based on legitimate interests;
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
To exercise these rights, email maria.lewis@mysizzleisland.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Information Commissioner / relevant Trinidad and Tobago data protection authority.
9. Children
This site and ticket sales are directed to adults purchasing for the premiere. If you buy tickets for a minor, you confirm you are their parent or guardian (or authorised adult) and that you provide their attendance details lawfully. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under sixteen (16) without appropriate adult authority.
10. Cookies and similar technologies
This site uses essential technologies needed for navigation, form submission, and payment redirection. We do not currently operate advertising cookies. If we add analytics or non-essential cookies, we will update this Policy and, where required, seek consent.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy, except where consent is required by law.
